“Very inspiring!” That was a phrase we heard people use often to describe their response to our December Leadership Lunch Club meeting. Other comments we received on our feedback sheets included “Encouraging!” and “Best event yet!” We’re glad, because one of our main goals was to create a top quality event that was both inspiring and encouraging to our local leaders. Specifically, we hope our December meeting helped to inspire everyone to understand that “giving really is good business.” But even more, we hope you were able to have a direct experience of the amazing impact on both the person or organization that gives and on the one who receives. We heard that giving doesn’t just involve giving money; it also includes our time, our willingness to connect people to potential customers or resources, offering a listening ear, forgiving a debt, or helping someone to recognize the value of who they are and what they have to offer. All of these things support one of the main principles of our featured book “The Go-Giver” which states that one of the laws of business success is that “Our true worth is determined by how much more we give in value than we take in payment.”
